In October 2024, JRAGRAU's service team conducted a free on-site calibration verification camp across 14 manufacturing plants in the Pune industrial corridor — covering Chakan, Bhosari, and Ranjangaon special economic zones.
Scope of the Camp: Over three days, our NABL-certified calibration engineers visited 14 facilities and verified or re-calibrated over 200 load cells and force sensors, including equipment from multiple brands. The camp covered:
• Free preliminary health check: zero balance, creep, insulation resistance • On-site calibration using portable deadweight equipment (500 kg primary standard) • NABL calibration certificates issued for instruments meeting accuracy criteria • Recommendations and quotations for instruments requiring sensor element replacement
Key Findings: • 34% of instruments were operating outside their original accuracy specifications • The most common failure mode was cable seal degradation causing zero drift • 8 instruments showed permanent overload damage from shock loading events
Why We Do This: For manufacturing plants, a drifted load cell means wrong product weights, incorrect process forces, and ultimately quality rejections or safety risks. We strongly recommend annual calibration as a minimum, and bi-annual for instruments in harsh environments.
We plan to conduct similar calibration camps in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru, and Chennai in 2025. If you wish to participate or schedule an on-site calibration for your facility, contact us at jragrau@gmail.com.
